We collect the information necessary to operate GuideYou:

  • Email address for account creation and service communication.
  • Password (when using email/password authentication), securely hashed with BCrypt.
  • Google account email data when using Google Sign-In.
  • Family workspace data (members, roles, invitations).
  • User content (guides, problems, assets, screenshots, annotations, feedback reports).
  • Subscription and billing-related metadata.
  • Technical logs for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and maintain family board and guide-building functionality.
  • Authenticate users and secure accounts.
  • Process payments and manage family subscriptions.
  • Send essential service communications (activation, invites, feedback, billing, recovery).
  • Improve product performance, security, and user experience.
  • Measure page visits and selected account conversion events for advertising attribution and campaign performance analysis.

3. Data Security

  • Passwords are hashed using BCrypt.
  • Payment processing is handled securely by Stripe.
  • Data transmission uses industry-standard security controls.
  • Access to personal data is restricted to authorized parties only.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google OAuth for Google Sign-In authentication.
  • Stripe for secure payment processing.
  • SendGrid for transactional email delivery.
  • Reddit Ads tools for page visit measurement and conversion attribution.

These providers process data under their own privacy terms and policies.

Our Reddit integration currently uses a browser-side Reddit Pixel for page visits and a server-side Reddit Conversions API flow for selected authentication events such as signup and login. Depending on the event and availability of data, this may include information such as email address, IP address, user agent, and event metadata needed for attribution and reliability.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Data may be shared only:

  • With your explicit consent.
  • To comply with legal obligations.
  • To protect rights, prevent fraud, or enforce policies.
  • With essential service providers under appropriate safeguards.
  • With advertising measurement providers only for attribution, conversion measurement, and campaign analytics.

6. Data Retention

We retain data for as long as necessary to provide services, maintain security, handle billing records, and meet legal obligations. You may request account/data deletion subject to legal requirements.

Where enabled, the Reddit Pixel may also use browser-based tracking mechanisms to measure page visits and support advertising attribution.
